Hello, my name is Shimpei, and I’m a Japanese teacher on italki.
I was born and raised in Japan, and I’m currently based in Kyoto.
I have worked with learners from many different backgrounds,
from complete beginners to business professionals and advanced learners
who want to understand Japanese culture more deeply.
I can provide support in English when necessary.
Here, I’d like to introduce the three courses I offer.

I offer carefully tailored Japanese lessons for learners who value steady, long-term progress.
Including volunteer activities, I have taught Japanese to hundreds of learners
with different backgrounds and goals.
Some of my students study with me on a regular basis,
which allows me to adjust lessons carefully to each learner’s needs.
I value long-term learning and steady progress rather than memorization.
我为重视长期、稳步进步的学习者提供量身定制的日语课程。
包括志愿教学在内，
我曾为数百名来自不同背景、拥有不同学习目标的学习者教授日语。
有些学生会长期、定期地跟我学习，

【Beginner Japanese】
For beginners, I use original worksheets.
These materials are designed to help learners understand Japanese grammar step by step,
in a clear and structured way.
I explain not only what the rule is, but also why Japanese works that way.
This helps learners build a strong foundation and confidence in speaking.
【Business Japanese & Culture】
For business and cultural communication, I use role-play materials
based on real-life situations such as meetings, negotiations, and workplace conversations.
I also explain Japanese communication style,
