I have enjoyed my class today as always. Girish helped me with specific vocabulary from the workplace and created a space where I could talk about difficult real-life topics without feeling overwhelmed. I had looked up some words about my burnout and legal complaint and checked them with Girish. Even difficult stories sound softer in a new language, especially Kannada, which, along with the healthy workplace that made me start my journey with Kannada, has been my emotional support during difficult times. I am delighted to feel I am extracting something positive out of this situation, rebuilding slowly, with the support of a wonderful language teacher, grateful for his guidance, for growth, the laughter we share in the class about words, translations, meanings, making me heal one Kannada word at a time. Thanks to him, each class makes me braver about "making Kannada words dance on my tongue" (cf in Rahul Dito's song Kannadiga rapper)

Great catch up on this bank holiday with Girish, I could work on my comprehension while Girish was telling me about his adventures, and the highlight if the class was... learning that the word for "gloves" is a bag for hands and "socks" a bag for feet! haha! I've got to love this language!

Another great Kannada class! I told my teacher about what the trip I took during the last bank holiday weekend, and then we had a really interesting discussion about Kannada Rajyotsava and the culture of his city, Belgaum. I really enjoyed learning not only the language but also more about Karnataka’s traditions and history. The class was engaging, friendly, and full of cultural insights — I’m already looking forward to the next one!

My Kannada class on Swami Sandesha was a very enriching experience. Girish is great and explains the lessons with a lot of patience and clarity. Instead of giving direct answers, my teacher guides me toward the right answers by providing helpful clues and relatable examples. This approach made it easier to understand both the language and the deeper meaning of the inspiring lines in the text. The personal attention and thoughtful guidance helped me improve my Kannada and also reflect on the values taught in the lesson.

Girish is a great teacher. Thoughtful, patient, attentive. He listens carefully and encourages you to talk and is careful and constructive in how he offers corrections or suggestions. Highly recommended. Will definitely be booking more classes with him.
