Hello! My name is Francisca. I am a professional Indonesian language teacher for foreign learners. I am a native Indonesian speaker, currently living in Indonesia. I have a strong passion for language learning and teaching, and I enjoy helping students learn Indonesian to communicate confidently for daily conversation, travel, work or cultural understanding.
In addition to teaching, I am passionate about writing. I am the author of a published novel, three published anthologies, and I actively write on blogging platforms in my free time.

I have over 10 years of experience teaching Indonesian online to foreign learners from around the world, at all levels and with diverse learning goals.
I hold a degree in Communication Science from the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences, University of Indonesia, and a certificate in Teaching Indonesian as a Foreign Language (BIPA teacher certificate)
I have also studied several foreign languages at cultural institutions in Indonesia and at universities overseas.

I believe that effective foreign language learning requires balanced development of all language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Accordingly, my lessons integrate these components while adapting the focus to the spesific course type and the individual needs of each learners.
Lesson design is based on student's learning objectives, with particular emphasis on accurate and appropriate use of Indonesian in various communicative context. The primary goal of my teaching is to develop student's linguistic competence and communicative confidence, enabling them to use Indonesian correctly and effectively in both formal and informal situations.Mijn lesmateriaal

Francisca was the first teacher I’ve tried with Italki, and she remains the standard of excellence against which I compare others. Always very well-prepared, ready to explain, help and lead one patiently. I originally wanted to learn a few phrases for my trip, but Francisca made me fall in love with Indonesian. It is not in my personality to write online reviews for any product or service. In fact, this is the first one I have ever submitted. However, I have been compelled to share my experience of being taught Bahasa Indonesia by Francisca so that others can seriously consider this teacher. I have now had 29 lessons with Francisca, in which I have gone through the beginner course, and am now in the intermediate course, becoming much more confident in my language skills along the way. Francisca has been supportive and professional at every stage. The lesson plans themselves are always thoughtfully arranged with prepared materials, exercises and even homework. It is up to you to put in the work, but Francisca will carefully lay out the path to success for you to follow. During the lessons, she is always kind, supportive, and patient with clarifications, corrections, and answering questions. This review is long overdue! Francisca is the answer to your Bahasa Indonesia goals!
