Alex Maddison

Alex is a fantastic teacher. He instantly puts you at ease with his patience and his calm approach. He is friendly and easy to talk to. I think a large part of language learning is self confidence and feeling embarrassed really holds you back. Alex creates an environment where you feel comfortable so that you don’t worry about getting things wrong. I think this is really helping me to move forward with my Dutch. I highly recommend Alex, he’s a great guy.

My first conversation lesson with teacher Alex was a truly enjoyable experience. He speaks at a pace that suits me perfectly, which made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the lesson. I learned a great deal and I am already looking forward to our next conversation, as I can see how much this is helping me become more fluent in speaking English. Alex is exceptionally patient and friendly, and the notes he provides in the chat box are extremely helpful for improving and learning more effectively. I would highly recommend his lessons.

Alex is an amazing teacher. Being a native English speaker gives you both the knowledge of what it takes for a Brit to learn Dutch but is also proof that it can be done. His persistence and perseverance is a great support.

Alex has been a great English teacher for my 6-year-old nephew. After several lessons, we can already see good progress. He makes learning fun by focusing on what kids enjoy and is very good at encouraging them to speak in a natural way. His relaxed and friendly style really helps build confidence. I’d happily recommend him to parents of kids who are just starting out or already learning English.

Alex is a great teacher; he takes the time to really listen and also to give positive feedback. I appreciate that he also feels like I'm talking at my own pace. I would definitely recommend working with Alex to improve your Nederlands! :)
