As you can see, I have done almost 50 lessons with Mahdi to get myself to a basic conversational level of Kurdish before my trip to Erbil. He is by far the best Sorani teacher I have had and could not recommend him more highly ; his patience, intelligence and good humour are all qualities that make him an exceptional teacher and person. I wish him all the best in his future endeavours - he will succeed in whatever he does.

I am Kurd born and living in the United Kingdom. From a young age i spoke Kurdish but as I grew older, after going through state school and making friends who only spoke English, I forgot how to speak Kurdish with correct grammar, especially as I was never taught through reading and writing, only orally. Mahdi is a truly gentle, kind, and caring character and his love and passion for helping others learn Kurdish is clearly shown. Very polite and professional, as you converse with him he will provide you with any vocabulary that you may need to continue the flow of the conversation. He listens patiently, allowing you with enough opportunity to speak. I highly recommend this true gentleman.

I really admire the patience and calmness, especially during the many repetitions. I find it exciting how the lessons build on each other, and the pace is well adjusted so that one feels well supported throughout the course :)
