I am a native speaker of German with lifelong interests in other cultures, histories and languages — especially literary Chinese (文言文). I hope that I can help people here almost as much as I have been helped. I have taught a number of people, including Chinese and native speakers doing their Abitur (Germany) or Matura (Austria) exams. These are exams vaguely analogous to Chinese 高考 — though 高考 is harder. I will be able to teach German with a standard accent (Hochdeutsch) on a high formal level. I am happy to adapt to the student‘s interests and needs, where topics are concerned (see below). This will be expanded soon. I plan to offer at least three types of lessons. 1)Just talking, with a list of correct expressions provided afterwards. This will require no preparation. 2)Personalised lessons on grammatical or non grammatical topics chosen by the students, with PPTs made for purpose. These will cost more and require preparation time. 3)Reading German classics (Storm, Goethe, Schiller,…) together. This will require prior communication and only appeal to more advanced students. 4) I frequently record audio specifically for helping Chinese students master challenging sounds such as the German R I am of course happy to teach students from all countries.
