Gina Gargoles

It is so much fun to learn with Gina. She adapts to my knowledge level and I make great progress with her. She is great at explaining and gives real life examples for me to learn. She also helps communicating with my family on the Philippines and I am very grateful for that.

Gina is a very caring and patient teacher, and she pays attention to what I want to learn. She's always happy to make great new original learning materials, and tailor her lesson style and topics from my requests. Her personality is warm and gentle and she's open to chatting about local lifestyle too. She helps me with pronunciation and language structure using practical sample sentences, which also impart some Philippines customs in our lesson.

My trial lesson with Teacher Gina was excellent! We discussed my goals of resuming learning Tagalog after a 15 year break. She clearly explained her curriculum, which gave me a preview of what to expect. She also spoke about lesson/curriculum flexibility because I have some Tagalog already. I have been following classes with Gina now for almost a year, and I feel like she explains everything in a way that is both engaging and encouraging. She is very friendly and approachable so classes are often informal , and interspersed with learning about each other (and each other's cultures) which genuinely helps in language learning as then we can apply language rules to real life situations I find myself in. I struggle a lot with memorizing, but as she is consistently reviewing previous topics while working on a new topic it really helps me. Overall, I am just really happy with these classes and Gina's teaching style!
