As a teacher, I am always attentive and adaptable to the needs of my students. I blend 5+ years of one-on-one, online ESL teaching with a multicultural lens— from Pennsylvania to Ukraine, and now living in Turkey. I'm Fluent in Russian and learning Turkish, I understand the struggles of language learning (no judgment, just progress!). My marketing background and passion for travel, cars, and cycling make lessons lively and practical. I also enjoy discussing trading, business and debating AI. I have over 4 years experience as an online, one-on-one ESL tutor. I teach using CELTA style techniques. I enjoy teaching naturally by encouraging my students to speak the language. My goal is to improve my students' comfort and confidence by explaining how English is spoken and used in America. I remain neutral in political affairs, please don't be shy to book with me: politics are politics, people are people no matter where they come from. I have taught kids and adults from around the world, including Japan, Korea, China, Turkey, Europe, Ukraine, Russia and Brazil. My students will practice speaking or reading as much as possible in a relaxed atmosphere. I prefer conversation style lessons, where I can help my students improve through a natural use of the language. My lessons are focused on what you need, including Grammar, Reading lessons which can help with fluency, pronunciation and vocabulary building. We can also just spend time talking and learning the language through practice with a native speaker. I am patient and kind. My main goal is for my students to learn something in each lesson. I have learned the Russian language & lived in Ukraine for over two years, so I understand how it feels to learn and speak a different language.Mijn lesmateriaal

Today’s class was really interesting! I liked that we got to practice speaking, listening, and reading. He also recommended a program that I found really helpful. He was punctual and gave me great tips to improve my English. He is an awesome teacher, and I totally recommend him!

Roland is an excellent teacher with clear and easy to understand pronunciation. He doesn’t rush, all his words are clear, and he gives just enough support so that you try to speak more on your own, but he always helps when you need it. Just as importantly, Roland is punctual, he never arrives late to lessons and never finishes them early, which is very important to me.
