Konnichiwa! My name is Mayu. I’m originally from Aichi, home to Toyota, a well-known car company, and I’ve lived in the US, Canada, and Australia. I currently live in England with my British husband, where I teach Japanese full-time. I've completed a 420-hour Japanese Language Teaching Competency Course. I have experience teaching Japanese to students while living in Australia and England, and I have taught more than 3,500 online lessons so far. ✨ What I offer: ・Japanese for complete beginners to pre-intermediate learners ・Practical Japanese for travel (restaurants, directions, hotels, and more) ・JLPT preparation (N5–N3) ・Conversation lessons with detailed corrections (for B1–C1 learners) I love teaching Japanese online and work as a full-time teacher, so I’m always here to support your learning journey. Today was our second lesson, and Mayu-sensei's supportive style helped me relax and speak more fluently. I still forgot a lot of grammar and vocabulary, but she was able to scaffold the conversation, allowing us to discuss several topics. 頑張り続けます。ありがとうございます

Mayu made me feel at ease when learning new vocabulary and she is more than willing to give further explanation when required. She is patient and calm which helps when you are trying to get pronunciation correct. 5*

I haven't spoken Japanese for a long time and Mayu-sensei was patient and supportive as I searched for the vocabulary and grammar. She made suggestions to help me form my sentences and repeated back my phrases with some gentle corrections. I would like to keep learning to try to regain some fluency.
