Hei og hallo! 👋 I'm Nadine – originally from Germany, based in Norway for 19+ years, teaching Norwegian and German for over a decade. On italki, I offer conversation lessons. We talk: about your day, your work, life in Norway or Germany, things you're curious about – and along the way you pick up natural phrasing, vocabulary, and cultural context that textbooks don't give you. My approach is conversation-first. Grammar comes up when it comes up – I'll catch patterns in the moment ("did you notice you skipped inversion there?") instead of running a fixed curriculum. If you want grammar drills or a written study plan, I'm probably not the right fit. If you want to actually use the language with someone who explains things as they happen, that's exactly what I do. After each lesson you get a list of the new words and phrases from our conversation – your vocabulary, not a generic list. With a lesson package, you also get a personal practice page with quizzes built around the grammar and expressions that came up in your lessons. I adapt to your level. Beginners are welcome too – but you need some basics to build on. Fast-learning A1 speakers and crosstalk (you speak your language, I reply in the target one) both work if you already understand a bit, but can't speak yet. Ennha is always good with listening and encouraging me to use the language. She shares corrections gently and strategically - only in areas of focus - so as not to stifle my confidence and ability to speak more. She’s respectful and skilful in guiding the session, leaving enough space for me to practice my language while coming in very quickly when I need help keeping the conversation going.

I’ve taken several sessions with Nadine and here are what I appreciate about her: - Experienced and skilled: expertise in linguistics, a repertoire of pedagogical techniques - Creative: new teaching materials developed for individual learning needs and interests - Encouraging and supportive: recognises learner’s strengths, fortifies confidence in learning, accommodates learner’s requests where possible to facilitate their learning - Sensitive and thoughtful: acute observation of and sensitivity to learner’s needs, interests, and areas for improvement - Self-reflective and adaptive: responsive to feedback, has self-awareness, effectively adapts content and style when needed - Curious, growth-centric: willing to experiment new pedagogical techniques and fields of knowledge, is a lifelong learner of languages These are the aspects of Nadine that I’ve experienced as an ambitious, autonomous learner. I’m sure she exhibits other qualities when working with other types of learners as well.

Nella prima lezione Nadine è stata molto gentile, non vedo l'ora di fare la prossima. La lezione è stata svolta soprattutto in Italiano e Norvegese, lei mi ha fatto delle semplici domande e aiutato ad esprimermi. Mi ha scritto le cose più importanti ma anche piccoli consigli. Dopo solo mezz'ora ho già tante cose in più che possono aiutarmi, posso solo ringraziarla per ora.
