I am a TEFL-qualified English teacher with many years of experience. I am also a polyglot, with advanced levels of ability in Japanese, Spanish, and Russian, and an intermediate level of Mandarin Chinese.Ik als leerkracht
I teach English conversation to intermediate and advanced students, during which I make careful suggestions as to how students can improve the grammatical accuracy and idiomatic appropriateness of their spoken English. My strong understanding of Russian has enabled me to help many Russian-speakers in particular. I have heard every mistake Russians can make in English!

I've been taking lessons with Sam for about 3 months, he's helped me to make substantial progress in my Japanese, and I always look forwards to my lessons with him. He's helped me correct many bad habits I had picked up, and explains concepts in an easy to understand way, drawing on his experience both as a teacher and a language learner. Sam is a great teacher who keeps the lessons fun while taking the learning aspect seriously. He explains not just how things work but why, which really helps me with understanding things. Not being a native speaker further reinforces this, as he understands the perspective of the student much more for it. Notably, he will always give you things to talk about when, or while, you're not able to come up with anything yourself (yet). I can feel my own improvement and it doesn't feel like a chore to take these lessons at all, which is what keeps me here. Highly recommend.
