Rania Katsampa

Rania is one of the best teachers I have had the pleasure of working with on Italki, and in any language. Using well put together presentations, as well as books and articles she has written on Greek culture and traditions, Rania is always well prepared to discuss specific, interesting topics with me and these constitute the backbone of our lessons. Rania has also provided me with spot on film, TV drama and book recommendations suited to my interests and tastes, and these add an enjoyable out-of-the-class room dimension to our lessons, supplementing and enhancing what I am learning one-on-one with my teacher. In short, I highly recommend Rania to anyone who is learning Greek, and, particular, those who have a keen interest in Greek culture, tradition and history, subjects Rania has expert knowledge of, and has written extensively on.

Rania is a great teacher - very engaging and encouraging. In addition to developing my Greek language skills, she enhances her classes through sharing Greek culture and helping me to understand the country better. Her teaching style is warm and friendly.

Rania has created a lesson plan that matches my needs as a heritage language learner. She is warm, encouraging, and obviously passionate about the material.

I had 18 lessons with Rania so far. She prepared a study plan for me and is always precise and detailed in her explanations. She uses different teaching resources and provides homework after every lessons. I would suggest Rania if you are looking for a professional teacher with attention to detail who will tailor lessons based on your needs.

Rania is a wonderful Greek teacher who I highly recommend! She shows her dedication and love for sharing knowledge of language and culture in every lesson. It feels great to know that I have such a caring and fun teacher on my side, ready to push me forward with each lesson. Her lessons are varied and creative (fun) but ultimately have a natural and organized progression from beginner to slightly intermediate (to avoid any gaps in learning). I have been meeting with Rania online for three months, and other native speakers have noticed my progress and confirmed that these lessons have significantly improved my speaking skills. I look forward to continuing our lessons with the goal being able to communicate in daily conversations with native speakers here in the US and when I travel to Greece. My advice to others is to not wait! I wish I had started sooner! It is so rewarding to learn new words/concepts that are then directly applied to communicating with native speakers.
