Great lesson with Mapati! We had a small quiz on "feelings" and "household items". After that, we started learning the vocabulary about parts of the body. Mapati is very calm and patient. She does a great job of preparing for each lesson and also enjoys shares information about Kenyan culture!

Super lesson with Mapati! Mapati checked the sentences I wrote about "expressing opinion". After that, Mapati showed me a presentation that she made for me about "general household items". Her presentation had example sentences for each item, and she showed me several different pictures of different items people use in Kenya. It was really nice that Mapati asked me what I wanted to learn next and made a presentation about it!

Super lesson with Mapati! We reviewed the "emotions" presentation that Mapati introduced in the last lesson. We also learned about using words like "because", "that's why", etc. to connect sentences. We made example sentences using the new connecting words, and Mapati was happy that I understood and could use the connectors. Mapati is so supportive and really wants to help me learn, which is very inspiring!

Super lesson with Mapati! Mapati continued walking me through the presentation she prepared about "household items", which was a topic that I asked about. We learned many new vocabulary words. We also learned about prepositions. Mapati's did a great job with the presentation, and it was a lot of fun when Mapati told me about the "opposite" bus!

Super lesson with Mapati! We continued building sentences using emotion, comparison and opinion vocabulary. Mapati also checked the sentences that I wrote before class. Mapati checked with me to see that I was happy with what we learned about emotions and opinions, since I had suggested the topic. I really appreciate Mapati making sure that I was comfortable to move on to the next topic. She is very kind and thoughtful!

Great lesson with Mapati! We started by working on an exercise about "occupation and opinion". After that, we looked at some sentences that Mapati wrote about "expressing emotion". I thought it was good that Mapati didn't only list the new vocabulary, but rather created sentences. Mapati does a nice job of presenting useful topics in a straightforward way!
