Hi :) I’m Katharina, a 26-year-old language instructor from Austria. I have been studying English and Spanish as part of a teacher training program, and I also completed a training program as a German language instructor at the Goethe Institute. I’m passionate about traveling, languages, reading, cooking, outdoor sports, crafting, and gardening – basically anything that keeps me curious and busy.
I’ve always been fascinated by languages and other cultures, which is why I’m still a passionate language learner today. Thus, I’m well acquainted with all the highs and lows that come with the journey of learning a new language :)Ik als leerkracht
I see my role as a teacher as helping you find your own excitement for the German language, keeping you motivated, and guiding you step by step as you learn. I’m here to make it fun, encouraging, and all about your pace and interests.
What really defines me as a teacher is my patient, motivating, and at the same time humorous approach – in my lessons, there’s definitely room for laughter and fun! ;)
My background also sets me apart: being from western Austria, I’m very familiar with different variations of German, including Standard German, various Austrian dialects, and also Swiss German. In my lessons, you can expect a colorful mix of everything: speaking, writing, reading, listening, vocabulary, grammar, cultural insights… My teaching is mostly learner-centered, which means it’s tailored to your needs, interests, and goals. I also focus on communicative practice, because I believe that smooth, natural communication is usually the main goal of learning a language. At the same time, creating a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere is very important to me, so you can speak freely and just go for it – that’s when learning works best!Mijn lesmateriaal

Katharina is a fantastic teacher! Her lessons are always well structured, and she consistently comes prepared with topics and exercises tailored to my needs. She uses clear, helpful examples and explains everything in a way that’s easy to understand. Most importantly, her classes are relaxed, enjoyable, and make the learning process really fun. I always look forward to our next lesson together. I definitely recommend taking classes with her!

No words will ever be sufficient to describe how amazing Katharina is and how incredible her teaching style actually is as well. I indeed felt like I re-discovered the German language with her and also felt like I was searching for her for years to feel comfortable when I speak, interact and proceed with my journey. I can't thank her enough as she definitely deserves all the appreciation and I am grateful for knowing her.
