I’m originally from Moscow, but since 2021 I’ve been living in the Netherlands — and in 2025, I moved to beautiful Finnish Lapland.
My passion for languages led me to study linguistics at university in Moscow, where I also completed a course in teaching Russian as a foreign language.

My students often tell me they’ve never felt so confident speaking Russian as they do during our lessons — and that makes me really happy!
I believe the best way to build this kind of confidence is by not being afraid to make mistakes, while I gently correct them and help you notice patterns.
I know what it’s like to learn a foreign language — not just as a teacher, but also as a student. I speak English and Dutch (not perfectly, but I'm still learning), and right now I’m a beginner in Finnish. Katja is a super teacher. Learning from her is effortless and uncomplicated. She explains the nuances of the language and is very patient when I forget some words. I have not yet had an hour spent with her where I did not feel I haven't 100% benefited from the lesson. I highly recommend her.

Really enjoyed my lesson with Katja! I felt super comfortable as she was very patient and attentive while I spoke. I like that she spoke Russian for the duration of the lesson and refrained from speaking in English, unless it was necessary.
