Hello, Iām Yuka! I was born in Osaka, have lived in many places across Japan, and now live in Nagano.
With 6 years as a writer and 10 years as a Pilates trainer, I create a comfortable space where you can learn natural Japanese at your own pace.
Iām passionate about languages and have lived in the U.S. Iām currently studying German to communicate with my partnerās family, so I understand the challenges of learning as an adult. I believe it can expand your world, and Iām here to support you.

I'm not just a teacher, I'm also a fellow learner who shares knowledge and experiences with you. As a writer, I understand the deep differences between English/German and Japanese. I can help you find the most natural expressions that textbooks don't teach.
I've also taught Pilates to many international clients in Tokyo, so I can support you in English as well.
My goal is to create a safe space where you can speak at ease. My students say I'm patient and kind. And I always give positive feedback, so don't be afraid of making mistakes!

Had another great lesson with Yuka-san. āØ She guided our convo and was very helpful by teaching me new words. Her lessons are very relaxed so I can make mistakes without feeling pressure.

Yuka is a very patient and organised teacher. She is easy to communicate with and is attentive throughout the lesson. I appreciate that she listens and is able to adapt to my needs/requests, while being structured enough to lead lessons without being prompted.
