I was born in Osaka, lived across Japan, and now live in Nagano surrounded by the mountains.
With my background as a professional writer (6 years) and Pilates instructor (10 years), I specialize in helping absolute beginners and intermediate learners speak Japanese more naturally and confidently.

My lessons focus on "Active Speaking" and "Natural Conversation" in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. I guide you step-by-step and provide support in English whenever you need.
🔰 Beginner Japanese Lessons with Genki
Using the Genki textbook, we build a strong grammar foundation and practice speaking naturally. I can explain grammar in English, so don’t worry if you’re starting from zero!
💬 Conversation Practice (Above A2 level)
If you already know basic grammar, conversation practice will help you speak more naturally and confidently.
I use Google Docs to provide gentle corrections in real-time. I always focus on positive feedback, so don't be afraid of making mistakes :)
◆ About Me
I lived in Los Angeles for 3 years to pursue dance and study English. Now I'm studying German myself, so I understand that speaking can be especially challenging.
I love traveling and mountaineering! I visit Germany every year and would like to talk more in German with my partner's family. I’ve also traveled and hiked across Japan.

I really like how we combine Genki and free talk! Yuka Sensei makes the lessons fun and very interactive. I'm very happy with her lessons.

Yuka is a great teacher, especially if you are a complete beginner. She does not have a problem taking the lesson at your pace or repeating herself for you. I have taken another good lesson with her and though I am very new to Japanese, she knows a lot about the language beyond just being a native speaker so I recommend her for learners at any level.

Great lesson with Yuka today, I would describe her as patient and kind as a teacher but still willing to correct you along the way to help you improve and go at your pace. Glad I chose her as my Japanese teacher.
