Chinese with Ben

I sometimes wish I had contacted Ben earlier. I'm increasingly realizing how targeted learning for the HSK1-3 (and probably all further levels) differs from what is needed in real life. Ben makes each lesson so practical, lively and relaxed that you almost become addicted to more. There's nothing like having someone who understands their profession!

Bēnfàng, you stand out as a vibrant, extraordinary teacher who "makes learning fun," all the while covertly practicing expert pedagogy. You have the meticulously acquired skill of reading a student, using the words that person knows to build confidence, then adding new concepts with facial gestures, hand motions, and props. Lessons with you feel like mini-celebrations! And your explanation of yin and yang with HSK 1 vocabulary was simply masterful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, expertise, and teaching gifts with us.

Ben Fang is fantastic! He pushes you to expand your vocabulary just beyond what you know in a naturally conversational way and then reviews with you key points afterwards. Feels like a cognitive workout in a good way, you can feel yourself learning.

I love Benfang's classes, they have been key to continue studying and stay motivated. I tend to forget easily the new vocabulary but, after his classes, I surprisingly remember a lot of new words. His method is amazing, the way he explains or introduces new words by relating them to others that I already know. Also using gestures and constantly encouraging me to speak. I just came back from my first trip to China and I feel very happy because I could meet new people, understand and speak much more that I thought! 谢谢 Benfang!

I’ve now had 2 lessons with Benfang, and I will definitely continue with him as my tutor! The “learn Chinese with Chinese”lessons are a perfect blend of speaking practise, listening comprehension, sentence patterns and grammar! The lessons build upon the things you learned last time, with the addition some new vocabulary and concepts! Enough to keep it challenging but not too much to make it overwhelming. Benfang is an incredibly skilled, patient, humorous and professional teacher! He will instantly pick up on your strengths and weaknesses points and plan a lesson catered to you to maximise your learnings. Couldn’t recommend more! ☺️

Really tests what you know by speaking at just the right level immediately above what you already know. Style is predominately conversation-based with feedback, similar to a real conversation. Really effective teaching method where every minute counts, enjoyed our time together.
