I am impressed with Katya's teaching style. Though her teaching style may vary with different individuals, in our lessons, she speaks ONLY in Russian and tries to get me to respond in Russian. When I don't know how to say something, she types it out in the Google Doc. This is the active approach. For the passive approach, Katya is a GREAT conversationalist. I enjoy listening to her speak because she can make a simple topic very interesting. There is always something to talk about. If you want to learn Russian and practice your conversation skills, take a lesson with her!

A very attentive, diligent, and trustworthy teacher

Having taken many lessons with Katya, I can confidently say that she is consistent, knowledgeable, patient, and willing to adapt her teaching style to my needs as a student. She has worked with me from learning Cyrillic in my first lesson, to being able to have various conversations primarily in Russian. I highly recommend her as a teacher, and am confident that if you are a good student you will succeed.

Katya was an excellent teacher for my first Russian lesson! She created a warm, friendly atmosphere that made me feel comfortable right from the start, even as a complete beginner. She took the time to understand my learning goals and why I wanted to learn Russian, and structured the lesson around that. She used clear, simple materials and explained the alphabet and basic pronunciation patiently. I could tell she has a structured curriculum in mind for future lessons, not just random topics. I really enjoyed the session and I’m looking forward to continuing with her!
