Michela Badii

Had a great introduction lesson with Michela! She is very organized, structured and enjoyable to learn with. Immediately book a 10 class package after and can't wait to learn Italian with her!

She has materials for everything! I wanted to go more in depth into prepositions and talking about moving around and being in position and our lesson focused on that. Looking forward to continuing this topic next time.

Tonight was another example of an ideal lesson with Michela. We discussed our usual subjects of books, films, what we had been doing at the weekend and then discussed the topic of the current chapter in our workbook, which is about work in Italy. The focus was on what we would call “Brain Drain” where people who have required and essential skills leave their country of birth to pursue opportunities in foreign countries as a result of poor pay and working conditions. It is as big a problem in Italy as it is in other countries. It was an interesting topic to discuss, and I have learnt a lot of new vocabulary from reading both the workbook and reading other articles about this subject. Grazie come sempre Michela, un'altra lezione che ha migliorato la mia conoscenza della lingua e della vita italiana! Alla prossima!

Just as the weeks are flying by, so do our lessons. This week after talking about many subjects from pole dancing to visiting the lake district, we finally had just enough time to discuss the homework I had done. We have been looking at dialects, especially the Tuscan dialect and its influence on the Italian language. I am slowly starting to recognise the different dialects, even though I do not always understand the spoken words! I have said this before a few times, but learning the language with Michela is more than a lesson in learning how to speak the language, but also a lesson in Italian culture, and it is these lessons that has created my love of all things Italian, from the food, the culture, the places as well as the history of Italy. Grazie Michela! A presto!
