If I have one regret in life, it is that I didn't start teaching earlier. It is a second career for me and I enjoy it very much. One of the best things is hearing and seeing people of all ages begin to gain confidence using one of the languages I love and enjoy teaching.Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
We focus on finding ways to help you improve in the areas you need and for specific reasons like work or travel or studying. I do not usually use course books for English, but rather develop lessons made for each student and his or her goals.

Business English and Int. Communication TrainerFrom 2001 to the present I have developed and implemented lesson plans in consultation with adult English language learners at a range of levels from beginner to near native speaker skills in companies and for langauge schools in Munich, Germany. The vast majority of learners have been adults, but several significant experiences tutoring young adults / teenagers are included in that history.
Without exception, genuine and helpful rapport developed within the classroom as well as in one-to-one.

I am a retired University Professor of Linguistics and I have studied many languages in my life. Rod has been extremely helpful in this new German language venture of mine.
There are many things I like about working with Rod.
His language background is perfect for me. Because he originally went to school to study the German language (as opposed to being a German native speaker), he has already been along the road I'm on right now. As a result he understands where I’m coming from and can quickly show me the easiest and most practical way to say something in German.
He uses his vast experience teaching English to German speakers to explain the lexical and grammatical aspects of the language that are the same as well as those which are different from English. Rod is friendly, patient and resourceful. Those are extremely important features of a good teacher. Finally I want to say that the one hour lesson invariably goes extremely fast. I think it’s because we are also having a lot of fun.
I feel lucky to have Rod Zook as my German language teacher.
