I teach young, internationally-minded professionals who want to improve their business English for the purpose of CV optimisation and/or career advancement. As a full-time on-line English teacher with 20 years of experience in education, I have helped more than 200 students prepare for tests like 11 plus, IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL and EIKEN, with a success rate exceeding 90%. Based on your personal needs and goals, I draw up a teaching plan that usually includes topics like a grammar review/refresh to remove basic mistakes, phrasal verbs & idioms to give a deeper understanding of terms, specific vocabulary for your industry and presentation skills.Ik als leerkracht
I’m Ben, born and raised in Cornwall (UK), although I’ve resided in various different places since graduating from university. I discovered my knack for teaching while living in Asia in my early twenties. As I immersed myself into Japanese and Chinese society, I came to understand the specificities associated with learning a new language. I wanted to pass on my knowledge and got energised by helping others improve their level of English. Doing so has been my mission for the past two decades.
While I’m a teacher first and foremost, I’m also a digital nomad, a certified diving instructor and a history & culture buff.

Regarding my teaching method, I address various subjects during one class, to guarantee diversity and hit all key learning areas at the same time.

I found Ben because I had to study for my English test and I am really grateful that I had the chance to improve thanks to him. I don't know if I will pass my exam yet, but I will continue taking lessons with him anyway because, in just a few weeks, I have learnt so much and I want to keep improving!

Ben is a great professional teacher! Every class I learn something new! Ben never gets tired of correcting my mistakes. I feel like I have been learning all the things I missed in school: grammar, rules, pronunciation, etc. I'm very thankful to Ben and highly recommend you try a class with him! It will be useful for adults and children as well.

I started lessons with Ben to prepare for my Toelf exam. I was having problems with the "writing" section. Thanks to practising with him and his advice, my grade on the "writing" was 11/12! Thanks a lot!!!
