Hello! I'm Lucky Yancy from China. 👋
I'm not a traditional language teacher—I'm a conversational Chinese specialist, experienced entrepreneur, and lifelong learner. I've been involved in business for over 10 years, which has allowed me to travel extensively and meet people from diverse backgrounds across China. ✈️
In my free time, I love reading 📚, drawing comics 🧑🏻🎨, and creating thought-provoking stories on my YouTube channel (YMC Learn Chinese), where I share insights into Chinese culture and practical life wisdom.

I started teaching on italki in early 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic when I was quarantined at home. Italki quickly became a special part of my life, connecting me with amazing students around the world. During those challenging times, teaching and communicating with my students brought great joy and comfort to me. Even after COVID, the meaningful bonds I've formed with my students continue to inspire me every day.
I strongly believe that helping others overcome their challenges is one of the best ways to empower ourselves. Or as we say in Chinese:

My first class with Yancy was very entertaining. She was very patient in explaining the different tones of the Chinese language, providing me with multiple examples and time to practice them. Additionally, at the end of the class, Yancy sent me a PDF document summarizing what we saw in class today.
I'm looking forward to the next class.

Lucky Yancy's quality of language is excellent, but the style of conversation was not conducive to my learning needs. Her speech was fast and she spent most of the time talking.
