Hi! I'm Kathryn, an American living in Spain. I've been teaching since 2012 and love learning new strategies and styles, and finding new activities and resources.

I've been teaching English and Spanish since 2012 and coaching language teachers since 2015. I originally studied to teach Spanish, and then studied a Masters in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have taught in the classroom and online, and have experience with big groups, small groups, and one-to-one classes. I have worked with children aged 5-18 and adults, and have experience teaching Business English, Cambridge exam preparation, and Trinity exam preparation.

Language learning should be fun and accessible! My lessons focus on interaction with the language, using vocabulary and grammar in conversation. We'll sometimes stop to break down a grammar concept or review correct use, but you should practice as much as possible. I offer supportive feedback and error correction so you can continue to improve.
I use reading and storytelling (TPRS methodology) and focus on using the same structures in order to help you master new concepts. Classes will be thematic, and repeated classes will help you master these new grammar and vocabulary skills.Mijn lesmateriaal

Public School Teacher Certificate - New York State Department of Education - 2017This certifies me as a professional teacher of kids from 7-12 grades in the US. These students will be age 12-18, usually. To receive this certificate, I studied a bachelor's and master's degree in education, taught for one year with a mentor, and maintain 100 hours of ongoing professional development every 5 years.

Excellent! Kathryn's lesson is very well-organized and thought-provoking. She readily identified my son's strengths and areas for growth, and designed a lesson plan tailored to my son.
