CELTA certification acquired in December 2020. I am an adventurous traveller being on the road for more than 10 years after I got my bachelor degree in International Relations and left Brazil right after. I lived three and a half years in South Africa having two differents jobs there as a costumer service and as a researcher in financial crime for Thomson & Reuters. After Ieaving South Africa, I accomplished a big dream and backpacked nine months through the African continent, visiting 8 countries, volunteering in some projects, a life changing experience. In 2016 I moved to Peru, another great experience with a deep cultural immersion and there I could notice my skills with languages and decided to teach. My experience started in 2018 in Peru where I taught English in two language schools for a year. In the meantime I applied to be a community tutor here at Italki where I have been teaching not only English but also Portuguese and Spanish. My passion for teaching only grew with the time so I took a CELTA certificate in the end of 2020 and this experience provided me with a solid base and opened the way in many aspects of my career. I like to give a personal attention to each student and explore the best of their habilities. If the student has a very specific goal, I have got wide range of materials that can support business English and language tests. Lucas is awesome! I could not ask for a better teacher, my Portuguese has gotten so much better and i’m so happy I have gotten this far. He is super prepared, flexible, and a great communicator! I would recommend him to anyone!

It was great talking to Lucas. It felt very easy to have a fluent conversation with him, even though my Portuguese is not so good. He is super friendly and picked up very fast on my level and gave me good examples of how to phrase things better.

This was slightly wild - guy was eating nuts or something the entire time. Had a sleeveless shirt on, camera was shaking the entire time & showed up 3-4 minutes late. To be fair he stayed late but would prefer just on time ? Each thing individually would be ok - but maybe some professionalism?
