Out of all the Spanish teachers on italki and the other platforms I’ve tried, Denisse is a true gem. She's easily the best Spanish teacher I've had. My main objective is to practice speaking as that’s something difficult to do on my own. Denisse is very resourceful in getting me to speak on a variety of topics through casual conversations or creative exercises. Her experience as a multi-language speaker/learner is a tremendous and indispensable asset. She understands what it takes to learn and improve a language. She’s intelligent and really “gets it.” Denisse is always well-prepared for the classes. She diligently writes down the corrections or new words/expressions every time – I found it to be very helpful to be able to review them after class. She also spends her own time outside the class reviewing homework assignments, which not many other teachers do. She speaks Spanish very clearly and is easy to understand. I highly recommend Denisse as a Spanish teacher.

Denisse is an incredibly talented teacher who has been helping me with my Spanish language skills. She has a natural ability to make beginners feel comfortable and confident as they start to create their first sentences. As I progressed, Denisse helped me expand my vocabulary and improve my fluency, always with a patient and encouraging attitude. I have been meeting with Denisse every week, for six months now, and she is an absolutely fantastic teacher. There are several things I truly appreciate about her. First, she is always punctual, which sets a great tone for our lessons. I also love how she incorporates casual conversations about everyday life into our sessions—it makes learning feel natural and engaging. One of the most helpful aspects of her teaching is how she immediately types new or challenging words into the chat whenever I struggle. This simple gesture is incredibly valuable because it allows me to easily import these words into Quizlet for further study. Having a personalized and targeted vocabulary list tied to my everyday conversations has been a game-changer for my language learning. Thanks to Denisse’s guidance, I now feel so much more comfortable speaking Spanish. I highly recommend her as a Spanish tutor to anyone looking to improve their language skills.

I am a native English speaker learning Spanish. Denisse is one of my favorite tutors and pivotal to my Spanish progress. I have been working with her since the very beginning of my Spanish journey. She has been the bridge between Duolingo to eventually Spanish proficiency. Denisse is the perfect supplement for practicing my listening and speaking. She is very patient and an awesome conversationalist. In the very beginning, we started very basic. Now we can have 80%+ of our conversations in Spanish through a range of topics in all tenses. I highly recommend Denisse to newbies with basic conservational Spanish or above. Denisse is very helpful because she is essentially native in English and can infer what you are trying to say and *emphasize* explain why . ~Why~ is vital as a non native because we need to learn by rules and reasoning. Do not be afraid of her Chilean accent! She can speak very slowly - depending on your level. I have never had any difficulty!

I have been taking Lessons with Denisse for around 6 months and have made so much progress. I had a decent baseline before our first lesson but my conversational ability has improved a lot in relatively little time and I feel much more confident holding a conversation. Our lessons cover a whole variety of different topics - we often find ourselves analysing interesting maps though! - with lots of opportunities to use a whole array of vocabulary, and learn new vocabulary too. I recently met a Spanish colleague at work with whom I was able to speak and can honestly say that my confidence and fluency when speaking with her was greatly helped by Denisse. I've also listened to an episode of her podcast between each lesson with a helpful transcript to go alongside it and a quiz to test my understanding afterwards. I look forward to continue working together and making lots of progress.

Siempre presta atención a nuestras clases y me envuelve con una energía positiva y paciente.
