I love learning languages. It's interesting to have a conversation with foreigners in their native language. Actually, one of my life goals is to speak more than six languages. In my spare time, I also like playing the guitar and piano. My personality is quite easy-going and humorous, so it's very easy for me to make friends. At the same time, I enjoy developing myself and raising my personal and professional abilities. In 2023, I earned the Diploma in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages (Level 3), TQUK (Training Qualifications UK), which enhanced my ability to teach my students well.Ik als leerkracht
In 2017, I went to China and met a new friend from Mexico. After he went back to Mexico he contacted me, wanting to learn to speak Chinese. At that time, he had been taking some Chinese lessons with a native Spanish speaker. However, I found that his learning method could be improved and realized I could be his Chinese teacher. Since our common language is English, this also gave me an opportunity to practice my English language skills. I discovered that I could use pinyin to help my friend pronounce Chinese correctly. The Chinese language is very different from other languages - both in grammar and pronunciation. When we are first born, all we can do is cry and listen. As babies, most of our time is spent listening and trying to imitate how to make sounds like our parents. That's why the listening and speaking are so important. I'll focus on these parts first. :) Chinese characters seem difficult to learn because they are quite different from other languages. I'll teach you how to read them if you want to pass an exam or test. Since I'm a funny guy, I like to teach students in an interesting way. Therefore my students can learn Chinese in a good mood. First class was informal yet prepared! Plus it was structured around actual vocabulary I would use.
Felt comfortable and challenged to practice my Chinese and expand my comprehension.

even though I'm a very beginner I could be able to have a small conversation with him, he helped me out really well and taught me many new vocabularies, this is a very interesting and new method to me, that he immediately tries to start speaking Chinese and makes me speak it as well he is very patient and considerate! Again an awesome lesson with Vincent. I enjoy his proactive attitude while he paid attention to the questions I sent upfront. It didn't feel like studying, which is awesome!

Vincent is a wonderful Chinese teacher. He is always energetic and friendly in a way that makes learning such a challenging language less daunting. He has taken me from barely able to say a sentence in Chinese to now a full hour where we speak Chinese the entire time and he gives me vocab as we converse.
Learning with Vincent has been fun, he is creative in explaining language and grammar with humor, which I find makes it more memorable. If you are thinking of learning Chinese, I highly recommend Vincent because of his engaging teaching style and overall friendliness.

Great first class. Just what I needed. I am a beginner. Vincent is very quick to type in the Chinese and pinyin (with the tone) of sentences and phrases that we were practicing, which is great for use after the class to review.
