I am Elma Janeth, a native Spanish speaker from Colombia—a country full of life, color, and culture, just like my classes! I have been teaching Spanish and English my whole life. I have taught students of all ages. I am a certified English teacher with a Master’s in Translation, and I specialize in helping learners truly connect with the language—not just memorize it. Teaching is more than a job to me—it’s my passion and purpose. I'm known for being creative, patient, and full of positive energy. I love designing fun, personalized lessons that make you feel confident and excited to learn. Outside the classroom, I'm into reading, dancing, traveling, and practicing sports.

Profesora Elma is a great teacher! She is teaching me so much about Colombian cultures and I am so much more excited about my trip to Medellin! Our classes are informal though never unorganized and she challenges me, often asking me comprehension questions along throughout the lesson. I’ve only taken 2 classes with Profe but I am already seeing how much better I will be able to get at speaking and listening(:

I enjoy my classes with Elma ! She helps me with my pronunciation and teaches me alot about Colombian culture. She has also been giving me recommendations for my upcoming trip to Medellin and Armenia. I am thankful for her help in getting to know Colombia and what to expect when Im there.

Elma is an outstanding teacher. I've tried multiple different techniques to improve my language abilities. My lessons with Elma have truly made a difference in my language journey. Her classes are far more than "say this" and "say that". It feels like an immersion class focused on language, culture, and history. I highly recommend taking classes with Elma.
