I'm TEFL certified, have worked over 4 years in immigrant community based groups in Chicago and have 3 years experience teaching English online to adults and children. I also do individualized preparation for the IELTS, TOEFL, CET-4, and EIKEN exams. I have experience tutoring university students, professionals in the tech, business, design, food and medical industries, artists, people looking to travel, and those planning on moving to English-speaking countries. I love creating comfortable environments for students to learn and explore how to express themselves.

My lessons are conversational and relaxed. My focus is on helping you to speak clearly and be able to understand other English speakers. I believe everyone has their own unique way of expressing themselves, so it's important that you are comfortable to make mistakes and find your voice :)
We can go in depth with grammar if needed. I can make suggestions and corrections organically throughout our chat. I specialize in conversation, business (Finance/Tech/Education/Trade sectors) meetings, school and job interview coaching and practice. I learned and practiced a lot during the lesson.
TJ asked me to slow down my talks and think clearly about my sentences to make sure to say them right. He corrected my grammars mistakes about tense and plural wise. He also brought to some interesting questions to our conversation. TJ is a very professional teacher. I really enjoyed this class.

Tj is a good teacher. He can adjust the class contents according to my needs well. I was preparing for PhD interview, and he would take classes based on interview questions and my individual materials. He provided a lot of insights into PhD interviews. He not only directly pointed my problems in pronunciation and grammar but also helped me learn how to talk about myself comfortably, especially during interviews. Besides, he is good at encouraging students, which also helps me a lot.
