I've been tutoring for around 10 years in Buenos Aires and New York. I've also coached at Grand Street Settlement, a middle-school located in Lower Manhattan.
I grew up in Buenos Aires, where I learned English and Spanish at school. I'm fluent in Korean due to my family background.
I have a Licenciatura/degree in International Relations and have a postgraduate degree in Capital Markets.
After a few years of corporate-world experience, I decided to return to my language lessons.
I can easily swap from one language to another and we can practice this together, if you are interested!

I'm passionate about teaching and sharing my culture. It would be more appropriate to say that I'm a mix of all 3 cultures: Argentine, American and Korean.
I'm quite devoted, friendly, spontaneous and outgoing.
When I'm not teaching, you'll find me climbing, kayaking, paddling or playing music :)
I'm quite serious about what I do and I expect the same kind of commitment from my students.

My teaching skills come entirely from my experience as a language learner and a teacher.
As regards my teaching methodology, I'd say it's rather unconventional because I focus mainly on improving conversation and training students for real life situations.
I believe language comes to life when it's spoken and used every day from the early stages of learning.
Learning with me is more than learning a language. We'll exchange views on many different topics, share life stories and prepare you for the next step.

I can really feel my confidence building as we have general conversation about things I do on a day to day basis... and about things going on around me. In the beginning I was terrified of attempting to have a conversation with a Spanish speaking person. But Ester is definitely building my confidence!

Esther is an incredible educator! She is patient, thoughtful, and has a wonderful way of encouraging even the quietest students to open up.
