Maria is an effective teacher! I've studied Greek before so have to compare her with former teachers. Because of my basic but incomplete knowledge, I am particularly impressed by how she listens to me carefully and teaches me just what I want to learn. She does this with patience and without trying to get me to follow a pre-organized and thus, irrelevant, path. Not all teachers have that flexibility! After that, she reinforces what I was supposed to learn, making sure I have processed it and don't forget it so soon.

Maria and I have such a strong connection. Not only does she help me with my Greek, she is always super uplifting if I feel as my Greek is not good enough. She reminds me that no matter what we're learning, may it be language, how to sing, how to play a musical instrument, we are improving every single day and it doesn't matter if you are a beginner or an advanced learner of the skills you have/wanna have. I don’t like the new italki format- our lesson stated late (both of us at fault). Then it abruptly ended at 2pm. My teacher said it was because of the new system. My previous lessons if started late would just go over a bit to make up for missed time.
