As a professional language learner and somebody who has had over 300 lessons on italki myself, I am acutely aware of the differences between a "great" class and a "meh" class. With me, you are going to get 100% dedication in every teaching session.
I will try my best to provide exhaustive answers to all of your questions -- no "it just works this way" nonsense.
I will guide you through the quagmires of tricky grammar, untranslatable phrases, as well as the infamous "intermediate plateau" all the way up to the shining city on the hill called Fluency🙃Ik als leerkracht
Let me ask you a rather silly question — what makes a good teacher? It might be tempting to say one of the following things:
— A good teacher is always prepared.
— A good teacher provides tailor-made lessons, adapting to the needs of their students.
— A good teacher speaks several languages themselves and uses that experience to provide better explanations.
While all of those things are true, I would argue that there is something else. A truly great teacher provides you with the TOOLS necessary to become a SELF-SUFFICIENT learner. And that's what I'll endeavour to do.Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
During our first lesson, we'll discuss your goals and motivation for learning the language. With that as a starting point, we'll do all sorts of activities (videos, image description, reading) — in order for you to achieve your objectives.
I'll create a shared Google Doc, so that you have an easy way to review the contents of the lessons. In the long-term, it is also a good way to track your progress.
I'll play special attention to your listening comprehesion skills. Understanding native speech is the analogue of a A-bomb in language acquisition, as it allows you to do it "the lazy way" — by simply watching content in your target lanauge, be it films, TV series or Youtube videos.Mijn lesmateriaal

Believe it or not, Alexander can actually make cases fun, logical and..... easy?!
I even learned German up to B2 level and disregarded the cases because 'it was just not worth it' but Alexander explains it in ways I hadn't experienced yet.
As an experienced language teacher myself, I'm impressed.

My lesson with Alexander was great! He's super friendly and patient and uses a lot of really great examples and resources to round out his instruction. I really appreciated how Alexander was able to correct my mistakes (exactly what I’m looking for) but without really breaking the flow of the conversation - very adept! His passion for teaching and for the language was quite apparent and very motivating.

Best Russian tutor I have found! Very detailed and exact for corrections he gives me and stays in the language. Is very patient about me taking a long time to search for the word I think is right or express my thoughts. Would recommend to anyone!
