Born and raised in Hong Kong, I’m a true local with Cantonese as my mother tongue. Holding bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Hong Kong universities, I bridge languages fluently—English, Mandarin, and of course, Cantonese. Living in Hong Kong, I specialize in helping learners grasp *authentic* Cantonese for daily life, travel, or business here. Need translations, script recordings, or just casual practice? As a Cantonese teacher, I hope to help you confidently use this language in Cantonese-speaking regions and learn more about Hong Kong culture.
If you are new to Cantonese, I will assist you in building your first 200 vocabulary words, along with basic grammar. Next, we will focus on the pronunciation of tone 1 and tone 6 until you can distinguish them in listening exercises.
After that, we will read some materials and conduct the entire lesson in Cantonese, without using auxiliary languages like English or Mandarin. Mijn lessen en manier van lesgeven
I will spend at least half an hour understanding your reasons for wanting to learn Cantonese and setting up specific goals for you. Additionally, please share why you chose my lessons, as there are many Cantonese teachers on the italki platform.
