I am such a nervous person, and I need someone to just talk to with no expectations to be perfect. I do not get anxious at all with Maki san. I’m also terrible at talking about myself- no problem for her, as she kept the conversation going. I learn so much from her questions and she is incredibly patient. If you are shy and need a conversation partner (you do, trust me)- choose Maki san!

I was able to enjoy another amazing lesson with Maki. I am amazed at how she explains, conveys, and teaches spoken Japanese—as well as formal, casual, and informal expressions—in a relaxed and very easy-to-understand way. I love her lessons.

Makisan!!!!! I could tell you about Makisan for days. She is very compassionate and always smiles. I consider Makisan to be not only a superb instructor but also an educator, a kind person. I have been taking classes with Makisan for a long time, and I don't believe I could learn Japanese from anybody else. Nobody at my university can even come close to Makisan's teaching methodology, which I have in my Japanese studies classes. Everything is made easy and tranquil by her distinctive teaching approach. She also considers linguistic aspects like phonetics, syntax, etc. to be important. All of it will be summed up as "the best teaching experience of my life." In her capacity as a teacher, she sacrifices everything to set things right. It's been a while since we talked. Maki san is still very comfortable to talk to. I still made grammar mistakes and have forgotten some japanese words, but she is very careful in her approach to correct me. I also learned some useful words today! I look forward to more kaiwa practice with Maki san.
