I am from Madeira but was originally born in the UK.
Growing up speaking both Portuguese and English as a native speaker has enabled me to adapt easily to different situations.
My Bachelor's degree is in English and Business Studies by the University of Madeira.
I was responsible for the Beginner's English Course for adults at the University of Madeira and have tutored in person and online various students.
During my 4 years on Italki I have had the opportunity to help students of all ages and from all over the world, reach their language goals in a personalized and easygoing environment.Ik als leerkracht
I believe that I read students very well and am very adaptable to their study needs as well as methods of learning. For me teaching needs to identify difficulties and clarify them with examples of everyday situations, therefore, I would say that I am a very down to earth teacher but persistent on learning. I prefer to mix theoretical exercises with practical exercises to engage students' attention and make learning useful, as well as fun. I have found that by using multiple choice questions, filling-in exercises, oral presentations and compositions, students are more captivated by the language.
