Hi everyone! My name is Sofia, I’m 26 and I am from Italy. I am doing a Ph.D. in a Chinese university, so as soon as they open the borders I am going to move there. For now, though, I am working online from my home in Italy. In my free time, I like to play with my cats, draw, take photographs, cook and learn languages, of course! I am also into manga and anime, so that’s how I got interested in learning Japanese. I can also speak German, since I lived in Munich for a year, to write my Master thesis.

I have experience teaching physics and mathematics to high school kids. Now I would like to try teaching languages and meet new people from all over the world!

I would like to teach by informal conversations, as the best way to assimilate a language is to use what you actually need in your life! Of course, we can also study grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, or even translate some articles or songs. Songs are a good way to practise pronunciation and a good tool for memorizing words. Just tell me in advance and specify your preferences!

Other than being very comfortable to converse with, Sofi is very good at elevating my vocabulary without interrupting me as we have conversation. In the chat, she types out words or phrases I stumble over so that I have a list I can review after the lesson is finished. She’s a very good listener too!
