I grew up in Lebanon in an amalgam of cultures, languages, and traditions. Since I was a child, I have been exposed to both Lebanese and French culture, as Lebanon is a place where oriental and occidental cultures meet. In 2019, I moved to Prague for my studies, and I am now based between Beirut and Prague. I studied arts and have a master’s in directing of alternative theater. I am interested in all types of arts and sports (I also am an experienced horseback rider), and I have a deep love for traveling and discovering new cultures. So one thing I find great about Italki is to be able to meet people from around the world even while being at home ;) I really believe that practicing as much as possible and making mistakes is the best way to learn a language! 😄 I have been teaching on Italki since November 2020, and I have met a lot of people from around the world, kids and adults; beginners and advanced speakers. I am patient and know how important it is to repeat things for them to be clearly understood and remembered. I also know that each person has their own way of learning, so I adapt to whatever is best for you. I have been learning Spanish, German, and Czech, so I have experience when it comes to discovering new words and pronunciation. Chatting with Mara is always so relaxed and helpful. She's very easy-going, and at the same time, she takes me and my learning seriously and goes above and beyond to be helpful. I really appreciate that she is very thoughtful and generous. She does a fantastic job without coming on too strong, so it's always a productive, but easy and low-stakes, way to get some conversation practice.
