Alexandra

I have completed a couple of lessons with Alexandra. There’s always “homework” for both us, and I appreciate her time invested on her side. For me that reflects a commitment. I started from zero with German Language, and she’s been a great teacher, always bringing additional material to the lesson (which helps a lot!).

Today’s lesson with Alexandra really showed how skillfully she can build on what I’ve been studying independently and connect it back to the structured material we’re covering together. She has a great way of weaving my self-study into the lesson so it feels cohesive and reinforces everything I’m learning. What I love most is how practical and real-life her teaching is — it’s never just textbook phrases, but language I can actually use in real conversations and situations in Switzerland. She makes the material come alive and ensures it’s directly applicable, which keeps me motivated and excited to keep learning. She always has cool resources like native videos and music that I study on my own.

She also shared a bunch of extra resources I hadn’t seen anywhere else, from dialect-specific videos to tools that actually make learning Bernese feel doable. On top of that, she gave me a ton of insider tips for visiting Switzerland — places to go, how to blend in a bit more with locals, and little cultural details that make a big difference. She goes above and beyond every time, and it makes learning with her feel genuinely personalized and exciting.

She takes what I’ve been studying independently and weaves it seamlessly into her structured material, so everything reinforces itself instead of feeling scattered. Every session feels productive, but also enjoyable — I always leave feeling motivated and more confident in my Swiss German.

Alexandra is an incredible Swiss German teacher who makes learning the language feel both approachable and genuinely fun. She has a great way of breaking things down so they actually make sense, especially when it comes to the tricky parts of Bernese dialect. What really stands out is how supportive and encouraging she is — I always feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions, which makes a big difference when learning something this challenging. She clearly knows her stuff, but she also brings warmth, humor, and structure to every lesson. Thanks to her, I’ve not only made real progress with the language, but I’ve also come to enjoy the process. I can’t recommend her enough.
