My name is Travis. I'm 31 years old, from the United States, and I love sharing and learning languages. I've been sharing my native language, English, online with non-native speakers since I was 14. I love learning about different cultures and meeting new people. I'm currently learning Brazilian Portuguese here on italki as a student and thought it would be the perfect platform to meet people looking to improve their English skills.

I focus on real-world applications and want to help you build the skills to learn and use the language naturally. I believe the most important aspect of language is sharing ideas. My goal is to accommodate your needs as a learner and make our conversations something you can practice here and apply in your daily life. I want to create a space where you feel comfortable taking risks and playing with the language so you can build the confidence to express your ideas fully and honestly. I've been taking lessons with Travis for about 10 months now. I really appreciate the way he conducts his classes, which is very relaxed and comfortable for me. With Travis, I can always discuss topics of interest and express my opinions. He, in turn, shared with me his experience of learning Portuguese and valuable suggestions for improvement. Travis is an amazing teacher! I've been taking classes with him for almost a year, and I feel more confident with my conversational skills every session. Travis is an easy-going teacher. You can talk about different topics with him without feeling fear or shame. It almost feels like you're talking with a friend, but he always gives you feedback and tips. Highly recommend.
