Hi everyone, I have an American dad and an Italian mum, and I live in the north of Italy. I have a background in communication and journalism, and worked as an English and Italian teacher in Dublin, Ireland, for several years before moving back to Italy. My hobbies include yoga, long walks in nature, and learning French and Spanish. I really enjoy meeting people from all walks of life and I look forward to accompanying you on your language-learning journey. My classes are a good fit if you want to learn to hold a conversation on a broad range of subjects. My students and I often end up discussing current world events, new technology, finance, our travels, and the meaning of life! I'm a language student myself, so I can empathize with the struggle, and I strive to make our classes fun and enjoyable! I have a communicative approach to teaching, i.e. I like to focus on the student's ability to communicate and get their message across, and I like to involve them in real meaningful conversations. Having said that, I also think proper form matters, so I'll provide feedback on grammar and pronunciation as well.

I am very glad I have found Mary Louise. At first I was afraid one hour lessons would be too long, but they are passing in a breeze. Along the way I get feedback neatly keyed into the chat.

It was an excellent lesson, just like the previous ones. I had a nice conversation with Mary Louise about many subjects. She is excellent in helping me finding the proper words, phrases, and correct me when needed. I am very satisfied with these lessons.

We always have a lot to share and I admire Mary Louise for her waiting patiently while I am wrecking my brain looking for words. Or guessing them, throwing some French, Latin and Dutch together.
