We got to talk about Sayumi-san's husband's work and what he used to do. It is very cool! We also discussed スーパーの裏でヤニ吸うふたり, a fun little romantic comedy anime we both happen to watch.

We talked about obon festivals here in Hawaii and how they're different from Japan's. We also reviewed Genki 2 Chapter 23's causative passive and ても forms.

We discussed the storms over the past few weekends and the effects. Also, I learned more about how storms are when they hit Sayumi-san's area. Finally, we reviewed Genki 2 Chapter 23 and causative passive forms. The conjugation is a bit rough, but Sayumi-san helped me practice it to the point where I'm a little more familiar with them.

Sayumi seems wonderful. I just did a consultation of sorts so I can't speak on how she structures lessons or plans her curriculum yet, but she was very kind and straightforward about the tutoring process and finding a path forward. My intended plan is to continue learning with textbooks and have conversation practice, which see seems more than capable and willing to do. I look forward to officially starting with her in the near future!

We discussed the Japanese school system and what someone needs to do to enter an elite private school in Japan. It sounds very intense! Thank you for all the information!

We talked about the recent storms where I live and how those went for me. We also discussed Sayumi-san's trip and how fun that was! I look forward to the next lesson!
