Hi, I'm Nuno, a 33-year-old Portuguese from Porto, now a global citizen having lived in several countries. Teaching and learning are my passions, and I bring that energy into every lesson. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me drawing, painting, writing, or indulging in my love for football and sports. I’m a friendly guy who loves making new friends and chatting about all things nerdy—movies, books, and comic books are my jam. I’ve been teaching for over 7 years, helping students of all levels achieve fluency in Portuguese. My lessons are dynamic and tailored to each student, focusing on real-world conversation, cultural insights, and creative activities. As a published writer and poet, I incorporate literary elements to make learning enjoyable.

I offer both formal and informal teaching approaches. I believe that consistent practice and dedication are essential for success in language learning. My lessons are designed to be engaging and enjoyable, with a focus on fostering a positive and motivating environment for all students.
I prioritize oral exercises, as I believe that communication with a native speaker is one of the most effective ways to learn a language. At the same time, I emphasize the importance of writing skills to ensure well-rounded language proficiency.

Nuno is by far the best language teacher I've ever met. I started learning PT from 0 with him back in June '21 through a language school, and by the time I moved to Portugal in Sept, I was able to communicate with people with no problems at all. Not only is he a good teacher, he is also super friendly & nice-- you can also tell how much he loves the Portuguese language (and literature). His classes are well balanced: he can teach proper Portuguese grammar, but also how people normally talk (slang, common grammar errors, etc). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I started working with Nuno in June 2021. I didn’t know any Portuguese at all. I was in a class and after a month I wanted to quit because it felt too hard. Nuno offered to tutor me so I could keep up with the class. He also encouraged me and explained things so well that learning became fun. Because of him I stuck with learning and now I am a B1 level. I am so grateful for his guidance and patience with me. I still continue to tutor with Nuno and highly recommend him to anyone new or advanced.

Nuno was very helpful in my first lesson. My language skills are basic and what I most need to learn is to have a basic conversation. I am very awkward and Nuno was very supportive. He helped me identify my challenges and am looking forward to continuing
