Having had lessons with other tutors who mostly offered a free conversation format, I was looking for somebody who had higher qualifications and could teach grammar in detail. I was pleasantly surprised in my trial lesson because she seemed very well prepared, she has lots of activities to offer. I was a little nervous because she doesn't speak English, so not having English to fall back to was a little scary but she is really good at understanding what I mean even when I'm not able to form the sentence I want. Her speech feels very clear, I was even surprised because of how well I manage to understand her despite the occasional word I need to search in the dictionary. On top of her skills as a teacher, she is very nice to talk to and I feel very safe talking to her. So far I have taken a trial lesson and a grammar lesson and I'm very happy with how much she's already managed to teach me. I'm very excited and I'm looking forward to continue learning with her. I had my first ever tutoring session with Nattie - I have very little conversational Japanese experience, but she was able to go at a pace that I could keep up with! She explained her lessons and gave a demo of one - it was really beneficial! I intend to continue taking lessons with her, maybe after brushing up on the basics a bit first :)

She always chooses materials that are just perfect for me. For example, today my lesson was about imperatives, and we read common signs that used imperatives that I might see on my up coming trip to Japan. My lesson with Conatsu is always fun, and I learn so much!

Wonderful teacher. Very patient. She is very good at guessing what I want to say. She uses language that I can understand and she speaks slowly and clearly. She creates interesting examples to practice the concepts I am learning.
