Shu

Shu is a very kind teacher. He meets you at whatever level of Japanese you're at and is very patient with you. If you don't understand something, he is quick to help you understand by showing examples, explaining it in more detail, or spelling it out in Kana for you. When you do get something right, he is very encouraging. He also shows in interest in your interests, and uses those in his lessons to help connect with you the language. He trained me quite well for the N5 test! He is very easy to talk to, and is also flexible with his schedule which is incredibly helpful.

I have been doing free conversations with Shuu for the past 6 months now and feel my skill and confidence in speaking have risen tremendously. From the start Shuu creates a no-pressure environment, encouraging you to take as much time as needed to say what you want to say, and working out any kinks along the way. He has also helped to clear up vocab nuance confusion and I always walk away from our conversations with a few new words too! I would highly recommend Shuu to anyone looking to up their Japanese skill in any regard!

I've had lessons with Shu Sensei for 1.5 years now, and have improved significantly in terms of my overall Japanese speaking, writing, and reading capabilities. Shu Sensei has always been incredibly patient, thorough in his explanations, and always knows how to make you feel comfortable with expressing yourself. Looking back at the homework I wrote at the start of my lessons to what I write now, I can really see just how much I've improved under Shu Sensei's guidance. When I travel to Japan etc. I'm also shocked by just how much better I've gotten at speaking/listening, mostly due to my lessons with Shu Sensei. I thus highly recommend him to everyone!
