In my opinion, the best way to learn a language is to jump in and try to speak it right away, so my approach is not academic but starts from the practice of conversation. When a class is scheduled, it is part of my weekly plan and I get ready for it. I conduct a detailed journal of what I have been doing with my student, I write down every session, thus it is easy for me to check what we did on our previous sessions. I used to teach more conventionally, meaning with my students being in the same room as me. In 2021 I started using Skype for my classes (I now conduct my lessons on Teams) and things work out very well. I am always punctual as I respect the time my students take for our lessons, likewise I do appreciate if my students do the same.
