This happened at work and at social meetups. I really enjoyed teaching new people my language. In terms of years, it's been about 5 years of teaching. I met students in various places and their needs and goals were all different. As I had lessons tailored to individual students, I taught from basic Korean conversations to high-level Korean language such as presentations and CVs.

I have been teaching on italki since 2017, but I first started teaching Korean in 2011. I was in an exchange program at the university in Tanzania. I helped some children speak and write in Korean at Hangeul school. It was a fresh experience for me and I had a great time with them. After that, I traveled to Southeast Asia where I met some foreigners who were interested in Korean culture, especially K-pop and K-dramas. While talking with them, I found out people feel happy to have a conversation in a foreign language with a native speaker. Those experiences made me think teaching Korean as a professional job might be one of the wonderful things I can do.
