How to Read the Pronunciation for Unique Arabic Letters

This is pronounced as "A" at the beginning of words in English like: And, Alpha.

Notice that in dialects the ق letter is sometimes pronounced like this too. If it keeps its original sound we write it as Q

To produce the sound, imagine gargling. The sound comes from the same part of the mouth.

This may lead to confusion with the softer ت which is also transliterated as "t".

It is similar to ز the softer "z" sound, but it is stronger.

ز is pronounced like English Z.
ظ has no equivalent. A close pronunciation is like "the" in the word "either" but much stronger.

No equivalent for this sound. It is very close to ظ (the strong Z discussed above) but it also has a strong "D" sound. It is a fusion of strong D and Z.

Start saying the "D" in Duck, but instead change it to ظ
