Before a trial lesson, I like to have a quick chat with you to find out what your language level and learning goals are. Feel free to contact me to let me know, otherwise I will contact you myself.

Here is the plan I usually follow for a 30-minute trial lesson:
(1) we introduce each other
(2) I will ask some questions in French to give you an opportunity to speak so I can assess your language level
(3) depending on your learning goals, we will do either a speaking or reading exercise
(4) we will discuss the way you want to learn, my suggestions, and homework
(5) if time allows, we can also play a short game

Mostly, this is to allow you to see if we "click" and if you think we can work together, as well as for me to assess your language level. 

Note 1 - For A1/A2 students, I usually use both French and English if your English is at a higher level than your French to allow for better comprehension. For B1 and above, I speak mostly French unless absolutely needed. 

Note 2 - I do not currently teach children, only adults and teenagers.

STRUCTURED LANGUAGE LEARNING

Aim of the lesson: to develop your language knowledge (vocabulary and grammar) and practise all four skills (speaking, listening, reading, writing).

The lessons are based on my own curriculum which follows the CEFR guidelines for each level, including the recommended topics, vocabulary, grammar and skills. Please note I do not use a textbook but instead use of range of materials to support your learning.

The lessons can focus on one of the following: 
- general learning of the language
- relocating to a French-speaking country
- using French in a general professional environment
- French for travelling
- Exam Preparation for the English [GCSE, A-Levels] and Scottish [Nat 4/5, Higher, Advanced Higher] curricula

Please note that I do not teach business or medical French.
While I can teach you vocabulary, grammar and skills required for the DELF and DALF exams, I cannot train you for the actual exam.

After the lesson, I will send you class notes and the materials used in class so you can review them. I will also send your homework to practise what has been learned in class. Homework is not compulsory but recommended if you have time to do so.

Note 2 - please note the lesson will be approximately 25, 40 or 55 minutes.
