This class is for the student and teacher to have a little chat and get to know one another, it is not a sample class and I will not be teaching a regular class during the trial, the trial class is meant to discuss goals, expectations, learning styles and interests so that I can design your learning plan.
In this 30 minute trial, I take a few minutes to talk to the student and get to know him/her/them. I find out their approximate English level, as well as, their academic and professional goals relating to English. Next, I discuss their personal interests and hobbies which help me put together a learning plan that will be interesting for the student. Finally, I explain the format of my classes and give them a pdf file outlining the structure of General and Business classes.

In this "Free Speak", relaxed style of class, we talk about various different topics ranging from current events to personal interests of the student. This speaking time is great for the teacher to listen to and identify pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary mistakes and allows a relaxed and laid back approach to corrections!
Note: Please make sure that you speak in more than one or two words, this class is meant for the student to talk and be heard.

Conversational/Free Speak NO MATERIALS/NO HOMEWORK

As of 3/29/2024 I will only be offering 45 and 30 minute classes of this specific lesson. If you have already booked 1 hour lessons, we will continue to do those until the end of your package. 
In these lessons, I break down each of the sounds that ESL students struggle with the most. We use diagrams, mouth positioning exercises and listening exercises to really get into the physical reason behind why accents happen. I emphasize and practice intonation and cadence in class. I focus on helping the student perfect the pronunciation of some of the most difficult sounds in the English language such as "schwa", long & short vowel sounds, consonant endings and the dreaded "r" sound amongst others.

Accent Reduction (North American Neutral Accent)

In these general English lessons I provide the materials for the student. We work on listening, speaking, vocabulary, reading, writing and grammar exercises. Each lesson is taught surrounding a particular topic and I aim to tailor the class topics according to the students' interests, for example, if a student likes Art, I try to provide Art related lessons.
We go over each exercise together where I explain, answer questions, correct pronunciation and have speaking moments with the student. Book a trial with me!

General/Writing English Lessons with Material Provided

In these classes I provide the study material to the student and we work on business vocabulary, business idioms and business phrasal verbs. We discuss business situations, for example, leading a meeting or making an appointment. 
We also learn how to write business emails and do listening and speaking exercises. Last but not least, I teach students about business etiquette and business culture in the United States.

I have extensive experience in the job interview process as I have interviewed and hired several different candidates in my past career in the Legal field. In these classes we use my experience to prepare the student for their upcoming interview. We learn how to write proper resumes and cover letters. 
We practice how to answer questions properly, proper etiquette and what to ask. I also do several mock interviews with the student where I provide feedback so the student can improve every weak point.
