In this lesson students study the history of graffiti and discuss its effects on society and culture. We look at the oldest examples of graffiti in ancient Rome and talk about the evolution of modern graffiti from graffiti artists in the US and Banksy in the UK. At the end of the lesson, students will participate in a group discussion about whether graffiti serves a useful purpose to society or if it should be prohibited.

We will study vocabulary related to art, culture and history as well as practicing speaking, reading and listening.
